La prochaine édition de Makerfight sera les 13 et 14 juin 2026, au sein de la convention Geek Unchained au Parc Expo de Mulhouse.
Règlement général :
Règles concernant la fabrication des robots :
Standardisation des règles de construction des robots et des règles de sécurité de base au standard de la FRA (Fighting Robots Association), avec l’accord de cette dernière.
Le règlement de Makerfight tendait déjà à s’en approcher, aussi pas d’inquiétude, peu de changement pour les habitués ! La principale motivation à cette décision vise a faciliter la participation de compétiteurs étrangers et la participation des compétiteurs Français a l’étranger La plupart des autres associations européennes (Angleterre incluse) adhérent depuis plusieurs années à ces mêmes règles.
Ci dessous les « Build Rules » de la FRA, contenant en surligné les modifications spécifiques a Makerfight :
Notes :
- Un robot peut être composé de plusieurs sous-ensembles (multibot / clusterbot), avec un maximum de 3 sous-ensembles. Dans ce cas c’est le poids de tous les sous-ensembles qui sera considéré. Chaque sous-ensemble doit satisfaire à toutes les règles et passer le contrôle technique avec succès pour concourir.
- Toutes les configurations d’un robot doivent passer le contrôle technique. Les modifications majeures sur un robot durant le tournoi sont interdites (exemple : un robot qui passe le tech check sans arme le samedi et qui revient affublé d’un spinner le dimanche).
- Il est interdit d’intégrer quoi que ce soit de vivant dans les robots.
- De manière générale, contacter Technistub au lieu de la Fighting Robot Association quand le règlement vous y invite !

Limitation concernant les armes à inertie :
Les armes rotatives à inerties seront soumises à une limite maximale d’énergie cinétique à ne pas dépasser. La valeur de cette limite, que nous estimons à ce jour entre 1 KJ et 2 KJ sera indiquée ici. Le document expliquant vos calculs sera a fournir au plus tard une semaine avant le tournoi, soit le samedi 6 juin 2026.

Déroulement des combats :
Pour les mêmes raisons qu’il a été décidé d’opter pour des règles plus largement répandue, les combats se feront désormais en 1 manche de 3 minutes, au lieu de en 2 manches de 1m30sec gagnantes précédemment.
Déroulement du tournoi :
Un nombre prédéfini de combats par robot sera garanti durant les phases de qualification (tant que le robot est fonctionnel évidement), et dépendra du nombre de robot inscrit. Le principe sera inspiré du système de tournoi suisse.
Les phase finales (quart, demi et finales) seront à élimination directe.

Main ruleset :
Build rules :
Makerfight is now FRA Built rules compliant (with FRA’s agreement) !
Makerfight’s ruleset was already trending toward the FRA Built Rules. We took this decision in order to both ease non-French roboteers to join Makerfight, and to ease French roboteers to go fight in other European countries, which for most of them are already FRA Built Rules compliants (including UK) since several years.
Exceptions / restrictions to FRA Built Rules :
- Chapter 1.7 : Teethers : does not apply
- Chapter 2.1 : Makerfight is Featherweight only
- Chapter 2.2 : Bonus weight : 50% for non rolling robots
- Chapter 3.6 : Flying robots are allowed, but not recommended
- Chapter 6.1.1 : a switch can be used instead of a link
- Chapter 6.4 : Power light : can be blinking
- Chapter 7 : Batteries : Fusing, appropriate charging material, inspection of batteries, proper disposal of damaged batteries and near by surveillance during charging apply to all batteries chemistries
- Chapter 8 : Internal combustion engines are prohibited
- Chapter 11.1 & 11.3 : Kinetic energy limit will be applied, more infos to come
- A robot can be made up of several sub-assemblies (clusterbot/multibot), with a maximum of 3 sub-assemblies. In that case it is the total weight of all the sub-assemblies which will be considered. each sub-assembly must comply with all the rules and succesfully pass the tech check.
- All setup configurations of a robot must pass the tech check. Major modifications to a robot during the veent are prohibited (example : a robot that passes tech check as a non weaponized robot can not show up on day 2 with a spinner added to it).
- It is prohibited to have anything alive within the robot.
- Overall, contact Technistub instead of the Fighting Robot Association when the ruleset invites you to do so !

Kinetic weapons limitations :
Rotating weapons will be subject to a maximal kinetic energy limit not to go over. The value of this limit, which to this day should be between 1KJ and 2KJ will be indicated here. The document explaining your calculations will have to be provided at the latest one week prior to the event, Saturday, June 6 2026.

Fights format :
For the same reasons we now follow the FRA Built Rules, we also changed the fights format, and went from 2 wining rounds of 1m30s to a single round of 3 minutes.
Tournament format :
A pre defined number of fights will be granted during the qualifications phases (as long as the robot is functional, obviously), and will depend on how many robots will be registred. The principle will be inspired from the swiss format.
The final phase (quarters, semi and finales) will be direct elimination.
